Dear Senator Boxer,
With all due respect to the good works you have done for California, you embarrassed your state recently by stumping for Joe Lieberman. His positions aside, Sen. Lieberman's current loyalty to the Democratic Party is questionable at best, and efforts to represent his constituents virtually absent. Whatever good he might have done in the past, Sen. Lieberman now represents the most cynical and aristocratic aspects of politics, which has no place in the modern progressive movement gearing up to take back this country from the disastrous GOP. If he wins his primary, so be it---that is for the voters of Connecticut to decide. Whichever way they choose, however, the stench of Sen. Lieberman will be on you (and by extension, us in CA), and it will take a great many good works to wash it away. My only hope at this point is that if Ned Lamont wins the CT primary, you will do the honorable thing and support him as the Democratic nominee.
Sincerely,
John B_
