I am so angry at Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and company. I don't think even George Bush has insulted my intelligence like they did last night. In case you haven't heard, they're railing against the Prime Minister of Iraq, saying he "shouldn't be allowed to address Congress," since he condemned Israel's attacks on civilians, without condemning Hezbollah. Never mind that none of these wannabe neo-cons gave balanced comments either. They never once mentioned the Lebanese civilians, or the fact that Isreal's response just might be a wee bit disproportionate.
Their press conference was peppered with comments like, "Does Prime Minister Maliki have no appreciation for the 2500 American troops who have died 'defending his country,'" (note: 3100 Iraqi civilians died last month), and, when asked if maybe domestic political pressure on Maliki forced him to guard his comments, Shumer said "This is about morality; not politics." What a crock of horse-shit.
I hope those petty, hypocritical twits go the way of Lieberman - as soon as the Dems get the majority. Seriously. They sure know how to alienate their base by treating us like idiots. No wonder no one votes. What the hell is the matter with them? Who hatched this brilliant plan? Is it supposed to make Democrats look "tough on defense"? Democrats can be pragmatists, or they can be principled liberals, but EVERYONE can see straight through them when they try to act like neo-conservatives. I really, REALLY hate these two. Because they're stupid, even more than because they're wrong.
