Now I know Lieberman is going down!
Right now out of 59 postings in The New Republic's online straw poll, Lamont has 31 votes. And there are around 6 comments that can't be categorized as votes for either, which makes it roughly Lamont 31, Lieberman 22 among TNR Online members! (Poll in there's moresville.)
Here's one classic quote from Lieberman supporter, bulbman1066:
A vote against Joe Lieberman is a vote for the anti-American, pro-Hizbollah, pro-Hamas, pro-UN, anti-Semitic wing of the Democratic Party. It is as simple as that.
Luckily, that's followed by this from dkoon:
Lieberman enables Bush on far too many fronts. American has too many right wing politicians enabling the destruction of this country. Joe is completely ineffective as a member of the opposition party and needs to be replaced by someone more effective.
Take the poll.
Is it time for Holy Joe to start looking for a lucrative consulting gig?
Take the poll and please update the vote in the comments. :)
Update (10:45 PDT): 10 new votes in the TNR poll. New totals:
Lamont 39, Lieberman 23
Update 2: (1:25 PDT): Now a total of 89 "votes":
Lamont 50, Lieberman 32 (the remainder are comments not classifiable as votes).
Final Update (3:01 PDT): Now a total of 101 "votes":
Lamont 55, Lieberman 33.
At this point the straw polls has gotten very chatty and has more repeat comments and non-voting comments than actual votes. I'll stop now. But still take the poll! :)
