This was probably answered somewhere else? but is worth bringing up one more time, even if so.
Joe Lieberman will run as an independent if Ned Lamont beats him in the primary, but will Ned Lamont do the same if Joe Lieberman beats him?
I don't think so: sooo, it should be a widely-circulated meme that, if it's that way (Joe will run as independent, but Ned will stay a loyal Democrat), that Joe is violating the "Golden Rule" and not showing reciprocity or respect. I.e., if Ned is refusing to run as an independent, then if Joe is running as an independent, q.e.d., Joe is a Super Schmuck.
(If it were a matter of conscience or something else extenuating, e.g., some corrupt Party apparatus that miscounted the votes AGAINST Joe, an independent run in this case might not be schmuckery; but we can safely rule out "conscience" in Joe's case, and also opposition to him by the Connecticut Democrats, who officially support him, I think.)
Thoughts?
