I've been a member of dkos since before the 2004 Democratic Presidential primaries. I check in hourly, I comment infrequently and I diary rarely. However, the upcoming Connecticut Democratic primary for Senate has stirred something in me, something that motivates, something that encourages, and most importantly, something that makes me feel hope. A small, shimmering, glimmer of light during what very well maybe our nation's darkest in my lifetime.
Please join me after the flip to see my idea
This primary to me will be a bellwether from which all politicians will have to answer to. A Lamont win will launch not just a warning shot over the bow of Democratic Washington insiders and the republican apologists amongst us, but it will be a cannon blast landing a direct blow to hull of their private ship. The people are about to take back what has always been ours.
I went to the University of Hartford, had a subscription to the Courant and have many many friends still in Connecticut. Not a single one has voted in a Dem primary, before August 8th 2006 and sadly for Joe Lieberman, they are all planning on voting his ass out.
Still, there are things I want to do to help. The most simple thing I could think of was posting a MySpace bulletin which goes to everyone of your friends. I wanted to see if anyone wanted to help craft a bulleted list of reasons why people should get out on 8/8 and vote for Ned Lamont if they live in CT. If we could create a simple one sheet, thousands of people could simply cut, paste and post right in myspace sending our message to all their friends. What do you guys think? Worth it?
