After Ned Lamont won the Democratic primary in Connecticut, he went to Maine with his family for a well-earned vacation. Despite that, Ned Lamont has not been out of contact with the rest of the world--actually, I've seen and heard a fair bit from him
during his vacation. Despite that, I've kept hearing Kossacks going nuts about how Ned is doomed because he's disappeared on vacation. So as a public service to allay their fears, let's see what Ned's really been up to:
Tuesday, August 8th -- Lamont wins the Democratic primary!
Wednesday, August 9th -- Lamont appears on CNN's American Morning; the pundits that morning appeared to be more interested in Lieberman, however.
Later that day, Lamont is interviewed on Hardball (9m56s) via satellite, says he had a unity meeting that day with the Connecticut Democrats as well. He also responds to the GOP attacks on him on their website, Tony Snow's comments, and Lieberman's comments, and he makes a lot of good, positive comments of his own! Watch the interview if you haven't seen it yet, it's brilliant! Unfortunately, they don't seem to have a transcript of that show up, but at least they have the video of his interview.
Thursday, August 10th -- After Lieberman--at a campaign event--makes a ludicrous attack on Lamont regarding the London terror plot, Lamont responds in The New York Times, doing a telephone interview with them while in Maine.
Lamont separately responds to Cheney's similar comments, in The Stamford Advocate.
Sunday, August 13th -- Lamont to be interviewed on Fox News Sunday, and another national talk show besides that, as the battle continues in earnest for another week.
Naturally, his website--a critical part of any modern campaign nowadays--has been quite active too, both in releasing statements and in tracking all the latest news coverage, which of course includes many things I didn't even mention. If I missed anything else, especially more Lamont interviews, please chime in!
