My mom is currently in remission from Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Over the course of the last year we have read everything we could get our hands on and are encouraged by the progress that has been made against this horrible disease. There is something YOU can do to help find a cure.
Every 5 seconds someone is diagnosed with a form of blood cancer.
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening Walk to build awareness of blood cancers and raise funds for cures.
As the supporter of a cancer survivor, I will be walking in the Olympia Light the Night Walk, carrying a red balloon, and my mother will carry a white balloon which signifies that she is a survivor.
If you visit the Light the Night Website you can sign up as an individual or as part of a team of walkers in your area. The suggested donation is only $100, so I plan to find 10 friends who will be willing to donate 10$, and hopefully even a little bit more.
This is a disease that is currently being fought by almost 750,000 Americans, and by thousands more around the world.
I hope you will consider taking a leisurely walk in your local Light the Night walk and raise money for this worthwhile cause!
