"Norm Atkins, an Allen supporter from Falls Church, said the senator's "mouth goes faster than his brain. I don't think it was intended to be negative,
but it was to someone from the Democratic Party
who was, let's face it, making trouble."

The aide S.R. Sidarth was filming a public appeareance by a United States Senator who represents the state in which Mr. Sidarth resides. The statement about S.R. Sidarth being "someone who was making trouble" struck me as so familiar.
I was born and raised in the deep south. I attended all white schools from K-12. I graduated from high school in 1967 in the school's last all white class.
In 1964 three young men, not much older than me, went missing in Nashoba County, Mississippi. Bigotry was institutionalized in my home state in 1964. The policeman all the way up to the state's governor were bigots and proud to be known as such.
Here's what two newspapers of the day had to say about two of the young men who were not from Mississippi.
Tom Ethridge, Jackson, MS Clarion-Ledger
"[The] cause of the trouble in Mississippi ... is the unjustified, uncalled for invasion of that sovereign state by a bunch of Northern students schooled in advance in causing trouble under the guise of bringing "freedom" to Mississippi Negroes."

Dallas Morning News
"Those who know ... probably correctly suspect that the idealism of some college youngsters has been taken advantage of by some very hard boiled left wingers .. who know exactly what they want to do--stir up trouble in the South."

James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner were helping people register to vote. Goodman and Schwerner were those troublemakers who were away from home. I guess James Chaney was just an upity macaca.
Virginia may want George Felix Allen. Virginia may not care any more than George W Bush does about George Felix Allen's racist tendencies. And racist it is when your "mouth goes faster than [your] brain" and a racist remark pops out.
