¡Hola! Greetings from Jack Carter's campaign for U.S. Senate in Nevada, where I have just arrived this week. For those of you who don't know about the Carter campaign's ongoing plan to help the DailyKos community help us get John Ensign out of the Senate, you can read about it in
this diary from a couple of months ago. We have a lot going on here -- people are thrilled about the new poll showing us within the margin of error and people nationwide are attending to the race -- and I'll be talking about that as close to daily as I can manage over the next ten weeks. For now, I want to seek volunteers for a specific task:
translation. ¡Lea mas aqui!
We have been crafting some wonderful campaign materials here, a small number of which have been translated into Spanish. That's good -- but not good enough. We want to have particularly our web pages -- which you'll find at www.carterfornevada.com, as well as some other sites that you'll learn about soon -- available to all Spanish-speakers. Our volunteers here in Nevada will be knocking on doors and the like, and the great thing about translation is that you don't have to be in Nevada to volunteer. So -- volunteer! Even if you don't have time to translate, we'll need people to review what other people have written before we post it, so you can help in that way as well.
We also want people who can translate into other languages with voting populations here in Nevada: Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and others. If you speak fluent Spanish or are fluent in any of these other languages and can help out, please write me at greg@carterfornevada.com!
The Ensign campaign will be starting to unload its ads right after Labor Day -- using the money advantage that they have to counter our volunteer advantage -- so we want to have our volunteer efforts in fine form as soon as possible. We need your help now to win this campaign -- and we will!
