Dean supporters make a great point about Dean motiviating a new group of voters to vote. However, Dean's candid style and partisan liberal support makes him a polarizing pol. Doesn't this fire up GOP voters?
Some GOP voters are not happy w/ Bush for various reasons and some may sit out the election to protest some of Bush's policy, i.e. massive deficit spending, amnesty, etc.... However, if Dean is the nominee, the right may be able to motivate more GOP voters and turn this into a vote on Dean's alleged extremism. Yes, Dean's not extreme, but it seems the right has been pretty effective in turning Dean into a extreme figure. And not to flame on Dean, but his overly candid style does not help matters.
