The Lieberman Lamont diaries are fascinating. I love reading Kos and Dem from CT's posts, their analysis, and explanations of what it means if Lamont wins the primary. Yet, with all the words written on the topic, no one has come out and directly stated our core reason for wanting Lieberman gone.
Lieberman is not a Democrat, he is a DINO. Lieberman is a Democrat In Name Only (DINO). This was obvious when he gave his sanctimonious speech about Bill Clinton. But If we did not catch it then, we should have figured it out by the time the war started. If not by then, then the "Kiss" should have closed the deal.
I have not seen it in print, but If (when) Lamont wins the primary, he will have beat a DINO, and if you believe my equation
DINO = GOP
Lamont will have beat a Republican!
It is precisely this message that is:
- Worrying the fox pundits - there go the ratings,
- Chilling the insulated-by-the-beltway insiders - there go our connections to easy money
- Scaring the corrupt cronies - we do not look good in orange jumpsuits and
- Making the FOA nervous (Friends of Abramhoff) - Will I have to wear a fedora like Jack at my trial? :-)
The message to the rest of the country will be clear. If a progressive democrat can beat a well-financed DINO, he or she can beat a Republican.
