I've been on vacation for a few days so pardon me if this was diaried already. I came across
this story that highlights Ambassador Peter Galbraith's book
The End of Iraq: How American Incompetence Created A War Without End. It seems to echo much of the sentiment on how Bush went into Iraq with huge blinders on, but there was one part that just blows my mind on how ignorant our President really is.
How ignorant you ask? Just look at the man's face, then read down below how bad it is

If this is true, well, it doesn't really surprise me actually. The situation just furthers my belief that Bush doesn't have a clue as to what is going on in
Iraq, the world, period!
From RawStory
A year after his "Axis of Evil" speech before the U.S. Congress, President Bush met with three Iraqi Americans, one of whom became postwar Iraq's first representative to the United States. The three described what they thought would be the political situation after the fall of Saddam Hussein. During their conversation with the President, Galbraith claims, it became apparent to them that Bush was unfamiliar with the distinction between Sunnis and Shiites.
Galbraith reports that the three of them spent some time explaining to Bush that there are two different sects in Islam--to which the President allegedly responded, "I thought the Iraqis were Muslims!"
My emphasis in bold.
My analysis on this: Wow, f***in wow!
This was discussed on Democracy Now and Mother Jones has a take on it as well.
