Evidently Wal-Mart is looking into the possibility of
selling E85, a blend of ethanol and gasoline, nationwide. This would dramatically increase the availability of alternative fuel around the country.
E85 would be available at Wal-mart's privately owned gas stations and Sam's Clubs. This is part of Wal-Mart's efforts to improve its image, but it could be a great benefit if it were to go forward. I know many people here don't like Wal-mart. I'm one of them, but I think this would be great if it were to go forward.
Currently in most states there are no stations that have e85 available to the average driver. I'd love to have an alternative when I go to fill up the tank.
Right now, for most people even if they own a flex fuel car, it does them no good if they don't have a choice at the gas station. Right now, the infrastructure is there, and there is a demand among the public, as evidenced by the demand for hybrids. We just need a willing provider.
