Disney and ABC have gone ahead and released that trainwreck of misinformation. They have bet on gaining more from the right in whatever way they were compensated, than losing on whatever kind of outlash will happen as a result.
I speak for all of us, I think, when I say that we don't follow through on our threats nearly as well as the wingnuts. I know personally people still boycotting France. I think a major part of the problem is, we're being attacked on so many fronts at the same time from the many, many different people. It's easy to get distracted.
Unfortunately, this also emboldens those who attack us. If we don't hold them accountable for this, who will? They certainly won't, and moderates are by and large uninterested.
So, I figure this is as good time as any to start holding these people accountable for their actions. Disney is a gigantic company, with many, many places to hit them were it hurts; however, this also means that there's many, many ways to accidentaly give money to them completely unawares. I've done my best to list all the places where we can hit them where they will feel it, and avoid giving back to them as much as possible.
Disney is, of course, a giant multinational. This may seem like the deathstroke to our boycott already. But remember, we don't have to bring them to their knees, all we have to do is make it less profitable for them to screw us. Disney is largely amoral. They have shown repeatedly that they only care for money. This is a good thing. Because if we can make screwing the American Public over unprofitable, they'll stop doing it.
Remember, a boycott is about strength in numbers, the first step is they have to know we're here. That means writing an OpEd for your newspaper, posting this elsewhere, doing whatever it takes to get the word out. (You have my express permission to repost this diary anywhere you want, with or without credit.)
Here's a run down of companies Disney owns outright, each with a list of things that you can boycott for each company, this isn't intended to be a complete list, keep a look out and steer clear of all pictures released under these labels.

Parks and Resorts:
If it has Disney in the name, steer clear. There's one in Cali, one if Florida, one in HK, one in Tokyo, and one in France. Go to Six Flags instead. They're in debt they need deserve your buisness more than Disney.
Television Networks:
One thing to remember about television networks is their profitability is directly proportional to their rating. If you get sent a rating card in the mail make sure to mark it clearly and accurately, showing all the times you didn't watch anything on the following networks.
The Disney Channel
Toon Disney
ABC
ABC Family
ESPN
SOAPnet
Lifetime
A&E
E!
Jetix
