We stand at the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedies. No solid answers have been provided. An unconvincing cover-up has been presented, and only under great public duress.
It is time to assess what really happened on 9/11 and conceive of creative strategies to dig the truth from out of the dusty caverns to which a thoroughly unprincipled unelected government has buried it.
In that the law has been creatively used in a class action lawsuit regarding 9/11 on behalf of deceased victims' family members, another lawsuit that should be promptly filed in federal court is one pertaining to the unconscionable, blood-stained profits that neoconservative warmongers representing America's invisible and unelected government have realized over the corpses and shattered bodies of service personnel and civilians in the Middle East.
The class action lawsuit alluded to earlier creatively employs the RICO statute in an attempt to demand the truth about the causes of the World Trade Center calamities as well as the repercussions that followed.
In its aftermath a neoconservative ruling junta took control as an outrageously submissive Congress ceded authority under the guise of protecting America to the very gang of international thugs whose footprints and handprints were figuratively "found at the scene of the crime."
One of the most adroit legal means of finding answers in the foggy morass of a cover-up, as exists pertaining to 9/11, is to follow the money trail. A potentially effective means of smoking out the neocon ruling class that rules under the project guidelines of the Project for the New American Century is a lawsuit under both RICO guidelines as well as under traditional common law.
The legal thread to employ as a linchpin is that of fraudulent misrepresentation and recklessness of the facts while using positions of government authority to drag America into an unconstitutional war based on a tissue of lies.
A case can be easily made that the alarming circumstances described concerning allegations about an attack from Saddam Hussein and an impending "mushroom cloud" through the use of nuclear weapons threatening America, thereby constituting a clear and present danger against U.S. security, constituted fraudulent misrepresentation.
The grand design of the government deceivers was to seize control of Iraq's valuable oil supply while, at the same time, creating an open sesame for corporate global giants such as Halliburton and Bechtel to achieve windfall profits.
Let us remember that former weapons inspector Scott Ritter consistently maintained in any forum where he could be heard that sanctions had crippled Saddam Hussein's regime and that he did not constitute a clear and present danger to American security.
UN weapons inspector Hans Blix, who had a team in Iraq seeking to determine the truth behind the Cheney-Bush Administration's charges, begged for more time to complete the ongoing effort. Indeed, Saddam Hussein had even destroyed missiles as an indication that he did not want war.
Despite all of these tangible indications that the fears loudly trumpeted by Bush, Cheney, and other neocon spokespersons were groundless, a flaw-filled presentation was made by Secretary of State Colin Powell at the UN to create a false bogeyman attacker in Saddam.
Meanwhile the first "shock and awe" attacks were hurriedly launched to prevent Blix's team from finishing its job, at which point world opinion would stand in virtually unanimous condemnation of an unnecessary American strike.
A current look at the Information Clearing House website, which has been tracking Iraq War expenditures, reveals that the total has surpassed the $313 billion mark. The death total of Iraqi civilians, as revealed on that same site, now stands at better than 250,000.
A lawsuit would reveal this tragic result and provide a causality timeline and accompanying actions that brought America and the world to this tragic pinnacle. The infamous position paper of the Project for the New American Century should stand as Exhibit Number One.
In this nefarious document a "New Pearl Harbor" is discussed, through which the neocon government could tighten the clamps on Bill of Right freedoms and seize control of other nations under the guise of fighting terrorism and protecting vital American security interests.
A nexus exists between these statements and their ultimate implementation through military action by Administration neocons such as Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, and Lewis "Scooter" Libby.
The same neocon force that seeks global hegemony conducted secret meetings in the office of Cheney prior to the first deadly shock and awe attack to divide prospective profits in Iraq, where Halliburton, Cheney's former company, and Bechtel stood in the forefront of no bid windfalls.
When a suit was launched to obtain minutes from those meetings and the legality of such a swift move was challenged, the response was the same familiar one that is used in any an all situations, "We are at war. We are fighting terrorism."
These same corporations whose leadership figures are quick to run the flag up the flagpole achieved outrageous profits as huge markups were registered for deficient services.
Meanwhile family members of American service personnel stationed in Iraq were forced into seeking protective body armor through the auspices of the Internet and Ebay.
Another important element in the rush to war was the reliance by Wolfowitz and Perle on the "reports" of infamous international con artist Ahmed Chalibi. His erroneous contentions about the frightening possession by Saddam Hussein of chemical weapons along with nuclear weapons capable of inflicting mass destruction on America were forwarded as knowledgeable up-to-date intelligence information.
Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Judith Miller in The New York Times printed these erroneous documents of misinformation as fact. Chalibi's highly paid con artistry and assemblage of lies then became a part of a Frontline documentary on the Public Broadcasting System with the reporter herself supplying some of the most shocking claims.
Who could forget the full court press by Dick Cheney, who took the uncharacteristic step of making visits to the Central Intelligence Committee's headquarters in Langley, Virginia to make the case for war by pressuring Middle East analysts to endorse the propaganda being ardently promoted by Middle East con artist Chalibi.
At the same time long time Middle East hands in the State Department and CIA were pressured to quit when they refused to submit to Cheney's pressuring demands.
This critical chain of circumstances led to the rush to war and the continuing bloodshed that followed and continues. The path to war in Iraq was enhanced by the events of 9/11, with the Cheney-Bush Administration steadfastly refusing to appoint an independent investigating commission.
Only under the sternest pressure from family members of victims and other equally outraged citizens would Cheney and Bush agree to the appointment of a commission at all.
It was notable that basically military-industrial and corporate oil insiders comprised the central operating core of the 9/11 Commission.
It was equally notable that whistle blowers such as Colleen Rowley, who had been named "Person of the Year" by Time or anyone else with alternative perspectives beyond the rigid "it was all bin Laden and Al-Qaeda" were not called to testify, while Bush only agreed to be questioned by members in executive session with Cheney at his side.
The evidence reveals a gigantic conspiracy to take America to war under the guise of self-defense when the actual goal was global domination and obscene corporate profit.
A lawsuit based on disgorging profits based on unconstitutional deceit by the sociopaths of the neocon movement could also serve as a catalyst toward ultimate impeachment action. Since there has been no enthusiasm for a frontal assault, then what about employing a backdoor effort?
The legal discovery process would precipitate a fascinating confrontation much like Nixon during the impeachment period of the seventies. Nixon stonewalled when information was sought; claiming executive privilege on the one hand and steadfastly claiming that unconstitutional conduct on his part as well as others in his Administration were justified through his powers as commander in chief.
How familiar this all sounds. These days neocons justify subverting the Constitution based on 9/11 and the war on terror. To challenge any action, even gross abrogation of basic civil liberties, involves "giving aid and comfort to the enemy" and impeding the war on terror.
Since this pattern of conduct is justified by a war on terror, then let us trace this alleged war to its roots and learn which actions and principles brought it into being. While 45 million Americans are without basic health care the neocon shadow government flourishes.
This shadow government consists of the Carlyle Group, with George Bush the Elder playing a pivotal role, the Kissinger Associates, starring the same former secretary of state who presided over a reign of destruction in which over two million lives were lost in Southeast Asia, along with the rapacious Middle East profit grabbers of the Halliburton and Bechtel multinationals.
Benjamin Franklin replied after he was asked what kind of government this new nation of America had, "A Republic if you can keep it!" Does anyone outside the ozone-stenched orbit of Fox Zombies and Limbaugh Dittoheads believe that we what we currently have in Washington even remotely resembles a Republic?
The time for action is now. It is time to attack the neocon greed mongers in their pocketbooks. In the course of such a noble action so much could be learned about their modus operandi. Nixon attempted to stonewall once that the forces of justice sought to hold him and his Administration subordinates accountable.
The same will hold true with the Cheney-Bush neocons, aided and abetted by squealing corporate media lapdogs at Fox News and elsewhere, but the diligent effort must commence!
