All this propaganda, all this hype from the Republicans and their leader. I want to get away from it. I want our nation to wake up and throw the bitches in jail.
It is depressing.
I jump from my work on one screen on my computer, to another on Americablog or DailyKos or or... hoping something will break and the nasty television thing, Path to 9/11, will just go away... No deal.
The chumps want to air it no matter what. I don't want to watch it.
But then, I rarely watch television. It's just too annoying. Every time a show stops, the advertisers try to sell me another damn car. They push how fast it is. How sexy it is. How it will make a man out of me.... or a woman.... What the hell! They all look the same. They are all not sexy. Go ahead! Be sexy on the freeway stopped dead for three hours in the sun! I personally think the computer animation revolution turned segues and scene changes into another moment of surprised disappointment.
So, I opted to do something for me. For my health. I called a friend and we went to the gym. On the upper floor there are suspended televisions so that while you mindlessly run on a tread mill or rotate pedals on a stationary bike, you can watch mindless shows. It fits.
The gym had all the tubes stationed to either Fox, ABC, or the football channel. Mindless. But, hey! It's a method for achieving an alpha wave and sweating at the same time. However, if you are serious, you increase the tilt of the treadmill and read the text. This increases your heart rate.
All of a sudden, out of the 15 televisions, 10 of them had Bush and 5 of them had football. This was a disaster!
But wait!!
One out of the three had green lawns and leaping girls and tight asses and people drinking beer with a parrot on a beach. That's good. I will look at that....
Then I look over at Fox and ABC ... and I was watching Bush's mouth move first on ABC then on Fox... oh, cool, they were out of sync.
Then back over at the football channel... this time the cars looked good!! Then more burly men bending over and girls waving everything they had.... then I looked over at Bush.... blah blah blah....I mean... geeez! .... who would want to watch that guy when there is so much fun elsewhere?
And I wasn't the only one. I looked about and no one was reading Bush's text... They were much more interested in the jumping girls and tight asses. Leave it to biology!
For the entire speech. I only saw one guy read some of Bush's text but, only for less then a minute.... I clocked him on my stationary bicycle. This was good news. Bush and all of his men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again....
Earlier today, Randi Rhodes on Air America said that about 8 million people may have watched Path to 9/11 last evening, and perhaps it was really only 'we progressives' trying to pick the video apart. The football game last night was far too compelling. Obviously, no one at the gym wanted to be torn asunder from the pain of reliving 9/11.... nobody wanted to wallow in self pity as the Republicans do... nobody wanted to be afraid. They just wanted to live their life.
Cool!
