Holy Shit! Looks like the D-trip is finally coming through for
Kirsten Gillibrand! According to Liz Benjamin on the Times Union blogs, they've dumped half a million dollars into ad buys for the final weeks of the campaign. While I imagine some of that money might be spent on the NY-21 race, it's fairly noncompetitive, and we'll retain that seat easily.

This is a lot of money in the Albany market! I'm still amazed to be hearing this.
Continuing on with the good news, they've released a few excerpts from a recent poll that was payed for by the DCCC.
The results:
Sweeney 43
Gillibrand 31
This poll is in between the two internal polls that the candidates have recently released (8 and 17), and I believe a good indication that the race is closer than Republicans think it is.
The poll also pegs Bush's approval rating in the district at 29%. Nothing but good news here.
Liz also notes that Republicans now consider this a safe seat. Hopefully they'll forget about it and be overwhelmed by the half million dollar ad buy leading up to the election.
