I found it interesting that a California based, organic farm would be identified as the primary source of the recent e coli outbreak.
Every so often, I've stumbled on an article(usually the same AP source article) that briefly noted that liquified fertilizer may have been sprayed on the tainted spinach. The source of the fertilizer, which should be identified in the said ariticles, is likely one of the gargantuan factory farms(Tyson, Smithfield, Pilgrams Pride) in this country that create over a trillion tons of manure every year. While the verdict is not yet out, this issue may lead us again to the horrors of factory farming that continue to plaque the health of people and this planet. Ironically, the organic food industry may suffer a huge setback and factory farms may get a boost. But.....if true, it seems misleading that a so-called 'organic farm' use 'factory farm fertilizer; on its produced marketed as 'organic.'
