Dear Senator McCain, et. al.
In light of your present perceived stance on the torture issue, and the upcoming mid-term elections, and in light of this administration's hateful, powermongering, warmongering shortsightedness, I have a great concern about your involvement in the 'supposed' negotiations and possible compromise on BushCo's (Rove as we know him) insistance about the Geneva Conventions being revamped. All I want to say is: Shame on you if you are using a guise of a concern for our troops now or in the future to actively co-create an escape plan for this terrible administration's attempt at getting away with murder, torture and violation of the law by supporting some bogus, undisclosed, or betraying language in any bill that comes before you and the Senate regarding the U.S. involvement in any torture issues, particularly suspending habeus corpus. It is highly suspected that this is the underlying plan and motive.

Shame on you and your cohorts if you are using the safety and treatment of our troops to help fool the American public into believing that you are somehow taking some stand of integrity to stop this horrible president (Rove as we know him) from doing something harmful. Karl Rove does not go to the Hill with any intention of facing resistance or failing in getting what he wants through the puppetface of Bush.
Shame on you if you are using your own history of being a war prisoner falsely before the American people to simply find sneaky, underhanded ways of helping this horrible man get away scot free with his atrocities toward this country and every single individual in it, except his richest cronies and corporate greed base.
Shame on you if you negotiate anything at all for him and support in any way anything less than keeping our troops and country safe, and not holding the terrible horrible non-leaders and incompetent destroyers of this country's integrity and stance in the world accountable for their crimes.
Shame on you if you use our troops and the American people for political gain in what is appearing to be a mid-term pretentious concern for our well-being while you help organize and orchestrate an escape route in the name of human lives.
Shame on you. I hope that is not where you are going. But where Karl Rove and BuschCo go, so goes the actual safety, honesty, and integrity of this country.
We are watching and listening. There should be no negotiations or compromise on the Geneva Conventions. There should be no political games played to help this terrible excuse for human representation get away with anything. It's no different than Stevens slipping a bridge to nowhere into a bill to fund proper body armor. He got the bridge, but the troops didn't get the armor.
Don't do it Senator McCain. Have a spine. Have some integrity. We're dying in more ways than by the dozens a week in Iraq. This country is dying with this bunch of terrible people in the White House. Don't join them. Stand up to them.
Please. Don't make us ashamed. I'm tired of being ashamed of what this country has become and is becoming. Do the right thing.
