on tax cuts for the super wealthy. I've read other diaries on this subject and I know the Warner people are reading and defending Mark Warner.
For those that don't know what Warner said in Iowa here's the headline at Polticial Wire:
Warner Says Kerry Shouldn't Have Targeted Bush Tax Cuts
Here's how the Des Moines Register headlines the story:
Warner: Kerry wrong on tax cuts
Way to go Warner straight out of the DC consultant class playbook. You must have been talkng to Joe Lieberman and the DLC.
You don't support tax cuts for the rich and you don't bash Democrats. This reinforces the Republican frame. In order to talk about tax cuts you must frame the issue with our progressive values.
Saying that tax cuts for the rich are unpopular because everyone wants to be rich is speaking in the republican frame.
If Mark Warner can't support progressive taxation and ending tax cuts for the super wealthy than why is he really pandering to the progressive blogosphere?
