After PT 911 I was angry. Ready to boycott all things Disney and never watch anything on ABC again. And then I remembered David E. Kelley's amazing and courageous writing on last year's Boston Legal. As an independent producer myself, how could I not support him?
Last year I watched Boston Legal in open-mouthed amazement at the terrific speeches written for Alan Shore. Week after week David Kelley and his writers took on the worst things happening in the country and spoke out in prime time. My admiration knew no bounds.
Then the culmination came on March 14 with James Spader delivering a speech which I shall remember forever. Here is the link:

Maybe this season ABC will destroy Boston Legal by ripping out its spirit. I wouldn't be surprised. But as long as Boston Legal stays the brave beacon that it was last year, it will be the only ABC show I will watch.
David Kelley should be rewarded, not punished. Let it be the only show that doesn't suffer from the boycott. Watch the Alan Shore speech again and decide for yourselves.
