Well today yours truly was hit with a punch in the gut delivered by a very nice doctor.
My husband will be undergoing heart bypass surgery tomorrow. We were hoping for a couple of stents, but the arteries were so blocked that it was not possible.
Of course, my husband being my husband, when asked why such a young guy was getting an angiogram responded, "Ah, I was bored and had nothing better to do and they refused to give me a cesarean."
He is the love of my life, my mate of 29 years (26 married) and my best friend. He's also a raging Democrat who tolerates my occasional (or more honestly--constant) Tourette's when it comes to the current regime. He's also a flipper of fierce birds at the TV whenever Bush deems to sully it with his visage. Or worse, his far from dulcet tones.
So please spare a bit of karma and good wishes for a proud Democrat -- my man.
P.S. For all Kossacks out there at any age. Please, please, please, do not dismiss chest pains as anxiety, panic attacks or heartburn unless you are absolutely sure. We were fortunate in that he has no damage to his heart, but it was through sheer luck this was caught before he had a heart attack. Routine pre-surgery procedures for a hernia operation exposed his pain as serious. He thought they were panic attacks. Be healthy, all.
Peace.
