"Bush will be remembered as one of our greatest Presidents, I can't say the same for your hero Clinton."
-a piece of intelligence I found on the hate-mail page of oreilly-sucks.com
Someone please give this guy a good kick in the head. The evidence is clear:
George W. Bush will be remembered as the worst president ever. Accept it.
Don't believe me? Maybe you'll find Quinnipiac (kwi-NUH-pi-ack) University more trustworthy than I. Here's the headline of a study they recently conducted: "Bush Tops List As U.S. Voters Name Worst President, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Reagan, Clinton Top List As Best In 61 Years."
Yes, Reagan and Clinton are at the top! According to Americans! This must be a bitter pill to swallow for Ann Coulter, who once said:
"If you don't hate Clinton and the people who labored to keep him in office, you don't love your country."
Ah, Ann. Will you ever win?
Back to the Quinnipiac study. The demographics studied were men, women, white Protestants, white Catholics, white evangelical/born-again Christians, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, red states, blue states, and swing states. The first question: "Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as President?" In total, there is 58% disapproval for Bush, 35% approval, and 7% undecided. The highest rate of approval for him comes from Republicans, who gave him a generous 74% rating. The highest rate of disapproval, 88%, comes from Democrats. The highest amount of undecided pollees, 10%, also comes from Republicans. I'd tell you the rest for that question, but it's all there in the study -- you can look for yourself.
Yes, dearest Kossacks, Bush will be remembered with great scorn, unless he does something huge to win over the hearts of all Americans. This will likely involve Karl Rove putting a kitten in a tree for Bush to save, or disguising Condi as an old woman who gets her groceries stolen by some teenage punk (played by Wolfowitz, naturally) whom Bush will heroically pound. It gives you a warm, tingly feeling in your esophagus.
Now on to approval for the rest of the presidents. "Thinking about the United States Presidents we have had since World War II - Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Senior, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, which one would you consider the best president?"
Reagan, 28%
Clinton, 25%
Kennedy, 18%
Truman, 7%
Eisenhower and Carter, 5%
undecided, 4%
Bush II, 3%
Bush I, 2%
Johnson/Nixon/Ford, 1%
That's it. Only about 3% of Americans consider Bush II to be the best. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. population stands at about 298,886,006 at the moment, which means that a little under nine million think Bush is the best (I've done the math). That poor hate-mail kid must be very lonely.
Moving on: "Which of these eleven presidents we have had since World War II would you consider the worst president -- Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Senior, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush?"
Bush II, 34%
Nixon, 17%
Clinton, 16%
Carter, 13%
undecided, 5%
Johnson, 4%
Reagan and Bush I, 3%
Ford, 2%
Kennedy, 1%
34% of Americans is just under 102 million of them, more than the combined population of the UK and Canada, according to the CIA World Factbook. (FACT: The Pitcairn Islands are the least populated areas in the world, at 45 in total. China has the highest population, at 1,313,973,713. But enough about geography.)
CONCLUSION: Clinton and Reagan good. Bush bad. Real bad.
The stats don't lie. Neither does anyone who says that Bush will be remembered as one of America's greatest presidents. That's not a lie -- that's just delusion.
