Absentee balloting has started here in South Dakota on two campaigns that have gained a lot of national attention. South Dakotans are voting on Referred Measure 6, which is the nearly total ban on abortion that our legislature passed earlier this year. Their GOTV efforts were featured on the front page of the Rapid City Journal today, which is at

In our governor's race, Jack Billion is the pro-choice Democrat running against Republican Mike Rounds, who caved in to extremists and signed the abortion ban into law. In four years as governor, that is all Rounds has accomplished. Billion is getting a lot of support from independents and moderate Republicans and has a real shot at beating Rounds.
If Rounds is reelected, other politicians will see that there is no reason to stand up to the most extreme elements of the right wing. So I'm asking everyone out there to send a message to the anti-choice crazies that have hijacked this state by making a donation to Billion at http://actblue.com/...
