Napolitano looks to be a clear winner in the Governors race for Arizona based on the latest poll results from KAET, the local PBS station in Phoenix. Pederson, despite his ad blitz against Kyl has seen little to no movement in his numbers.
Napolitano has a commanding 68-28 point lead over the Republican nominee Len Munsil, with 2 percent going for the Libertarian Barry Hess and 6 percent not having a clue.
KAET poll
Napolitano is pretty much seen as a brake on the Republican legislature in this state and while most people I have talked to are not exactly inspired by the current Governor, she has not done anything to rock the boat. Len Munsil is a right wing conservative Christian activist that may inspire the base conservative Christians to vote for him, but independents are turning up their noses at him.
Pederson, the Democratic nominee for the Senate against Kyl, has seen no movement in his poll numbers despite a massive ad blitz by both sides.
Pederson has 38 percent to Kyl's 49 percent with 2 percent for the Libertarian, Richard Mack and 11 percent undecided.
The KAET pollster, Bruce Merrill has the following analysis of the race
"There are three reasons Kyl is maintaining his lead over Pederson. First, he is winning the party crossover battle. While 19 percent of registered Democrats are supporting Kyl, only 10 percent of the Republicans are defecting to Pederson. Second, Pederson is only splitting the vote with Kyl in heavily Democratic Pima County and third, the poll found men are supporting Kyl over Pederson 55 percent to 35 percent while women are splitting their vote evenly between the two candidates."
