According to a new poll, statewide races are getting close in the usually reliably Republican state of South Carolina.

The polls are as follows:
Governor:
Tommy Moore (D) -- 46%
Mark Sanford (R) -- 50%
Lt. Governor:
Robert Barber (D) -- 48%
Andre Bauer (R) -- 49%
Treasurer:
Grady Patterson (D) -- 49%
Thomas Ravenel (R) -- 49%
Supt. of Education:
Karen Floyd (R) -- 50%
Jim Rex (D) -- 38%
The poll has a margin of error of 4.7 percent.
Mark Sanford was considered "safe" by most analysts and now the race is within the margin of error. Tommy Moore is closing the gap.
South Carolina could be the "upset" of this election. Turnout will be key. Because there hasn't been much media coverage, there hasn't been much excitement yet. I have seen very few road signs or bumper stickers for any of the candidates and it's late September.
Anything can happen in November.
