Insight magazine has an article up that quotes a "senior GOP official" as saying Republicans have funnelled millions of dollars to Lieberman.
If this is true it really says about everything you need to know about Joe. Check it out here.
According to Insight the GOP official says that it was Rove and Mehlman that decided to send Republican dollars to Lieberman. They consider him "Republican-leaning," and believe Lieberman will help Republicans keep their majority in the Senate, at least when it comes to Nat'l Security issues:
The source said that under Mr. Rove's plan, Mr. Lieberman would vote with the GOP on national security issues and help provide the party with a 50-50 split on major legislation. The deciding vote would then be cast by Vice President Dick Cheney.
Hmmm. Sounds like this money has strings attached! This quote says it all:
"Joe [Lieberman] took the money but said he would not play ball," the source said. "That doesn't mean that this was a wasted investment."
Haha. He says no, but then takes the money anyway. What class!!
Guys, if this is true this really just goes to show exactly which team Lieberman's playing for at this point. If Joe had won the primary I would have supported him. He didn't grant us that same respect to hold up his end of the deal. But with this he has gone too far. He has allied himself with the very people who are destroying this country: the Republicans.
So as we vote Republicans out of office this November, let's not forget Mr. Lieberman. Joe must go.
ps. Are any of you familiar with Insight Magazine? I'll admit I'm not. I'd be interested to know how reputable/reliable it is.
