I come here to read, and occasionally respond to what other write. I'm not much of a "blogger."
But I am writing today to ask for a little help here in New York's Capital District.
Several weeks ago, one of our local TV stations, WTEN Albany, NY, www.wten.com, decided not to run MoveOn's "Caught Red Handed" ad against John Sweeney (Thug-20th congressional district), calling it "too inflammatory" or some similar thing.
Given their timidity when it came to running this ad, I was somewhat shocked when I saw Sweeney's counter-ad, "Caught Red Faced" calling his opponent, Kirsten Gillibrand, a "war profiteer" because her husband owns stock in BAE Systems.
The ad even references the MoveOn ad and this local TV station's refusal to run it as "proof" the MoveOn ad was false.
Interestingly, it was Sweeney, not Gillibrand, who received campaign $2,000 in contributions from BEA this campaign cycle. (Why are we not surprised???)
Given ABC's fantasy approach to 9/11, it is clear that not only DisneyNews, but also its local affiliates, are clearly pulling for the Rethuglicans.
If some of you reading this could help drown WTEN Albany's WTEN's email box (wten@abc10.com) on this obvious political move, I would appreciate it.
(I am so not a blogger that I didn't know how to insert hyperlinks. You can see more about this at www.timesunion.com and going to the blog "capital confidential. Go to "20th District" to see postings about both ads.)
Thanks.
