I just heard a story on NPR where they mentioned how Condi and Co. are out trying to sell Shrub's "New Way Forward". What stood out for me is where they stated that Condi indicated they expanding the rebuilding teams from 9 to 18 and they will need to start getting out of the green zone. Well I know what that means . . .
they will finally be asking the adults to come in and help. By that I mean, this administration has continually pushed aside people who had extensive experience in these kinds of efforts in favor of those with little or no experience, but who were idealogically pure. The children, aka loyal republicans (hack, spit). Well, I would be willing to bet the farm that those children who haven't already bailed out of Iraq will not be willing to venture out of the green zone on a regular basis. So we can expect all of those people that could have really made a difference when this was all started, and who were pushed aside, will now be expected to come in after the situiation is beyond repair and try to fix it. And of course, these people being professionals and ADULTS will go, and no doubt some of them will return in a body bag or not at all. I have grave doubts the situation can be fixed, and I have even graver doubts that this "administration", aka ship of fools, will really make the necessary effort to move far enough away from their NeoCon, as in con game, tendencies to be successful. In reality this will just be a dog and pony show to make it look like we gave it one last try and it was the Iraqi's fault it didn't work out. The final spin will be that "America came in did what needed to be done and the Iraqi's refused to help themselves and so the Iraqi's failed, not the U.S."
The real losers in all of this will of course be the average Iraqi, those poor people who just want to live their lives and raise their kids but will caught up in the violence that Shrub has unleased in their country.
The Iranians should very afraid, I think Shrub is planning on "liberating" them next.
