Gotta hand it to Keith Olberman. I wish I had a transcript or something, but at around 8:30, he did an amazing thing. In a moment of Stephen Colbert graphic clarity, he made a series of lists of Bush fabrication - and they showed up visually listed on the side.
First list - reasons why Bush gave for going into the Iraq war, from WMD to spreading freedom to they tried to kill my dad. Second list - how much it would cost, from nothing to various numbers that keep changing as we go. Third list (with unfortunately no graphic) - all those who now oppose the escalation, including republicans, democrats, iraquis, congress, voters, etc.
It was so powerful, quick, to the point, a mini-'special comment' mid show, right before Bush's speech, that when he then quickly turned to Howard Feinman for some analysis, all he could do was stammer a bit and say, 'wow' . . .
I couldn't agree more. Keep at it, Keith. The country badly needs a voice like yours.
