A pizza store in Dallas, Texas has received death threats for announcing that it will accept Mexican pesos. Um, there's gotta be more to the story you say, right? NOPE. Hundreds of apparantly very bored people & some reichtwing blogs is going nuts over the fact that an American business is accepting - of all things - money, albeit Mexican pesos. And people friggin sent DEATH THREATS over this.

A pizza chain has been hit with death threats and hate mail after offering to accept Mexican pesos, becoming another flashpoint in the nation's debate over immigrants.
"This is the United States of America, not the United States of Mexico," one e-mail read.
"Quit catering to the damn illegal Mexicans," demanded another.

Putting aside the moronic idea that all Mexicans are illegal, why would ANY business want to turn down money??
Last I checked pesos are money. Don't quote me on that - maybe Bush signed another illegal executive order and changed it. And that it's the Mexican peso has immigration and I bet some racial significance. I wonder if these bigots would have such problems with the Canadian dollar or Euro, which is worth more than our dollar.
But it doesn't matter. It's friggin money! Why would you turn that down? You don't want it? Fine, I'll take it. All the way to the bank where they have this thing called an "exchange rate."
What makes this move novel of course is that other businesses, like Walmart, which have also accepted pesos have done so at the border. Pizza Patron's stores are hundreds of miles into the United States and it is that sense of "invading the heartland" that's making many bigots so angry IMHO.
Hey dumbasses! It's called COMMERCE. Look it up. Last I checked anything that helps your bottom line is a good business practice.
These guys need to go back to Business 101 because any business that turns down money is not going to survive long.
Considering that sixty percent of its customers are Hispanic, it's a great way to increase revenue and improve company profits. The company stated this was a business decision and did not want to politicize the move. They will evaluate the pesos program ending in February.
"If people would understand that the majority of our customers are Hispanic, then it might make more sense for a company to sell pizza for pesos," Pizza Patron spokesman Andy Gamm said. "It doesn't make sense in Connecticut. And it doesn't make sense in North Dakota or in Maine. But it makes perfect sense here in Dallas, in Phoenix, in Denver - areas far from the border that have significant Hispanic populations."
Um, sir, that would require that the bigots sending you death threats have something called "reason." But you know what? If you're around here, I'll definitely patronize your stores.
In fact, here's their website. Y'all feeling hungry? If so, use their store locator & see if they're nearby.
I don't know their politics and I suspect that they are simply just being smart businessmen. But like Costco and Chipotle, I'm happy to help companies that help oridinary Americans and promote diversity and progressive values.
And of course GOOD JOBS & ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY and well, Growth!
It amazes me that some close-minded idiots would rather the United States turn down billions of dollars from Mexican tourists and migrants which stimulate OUR economy. Why would you turn down money being brought into the country? That's like somebody coming to your house to drop off bags and bags of money and you deciding you don't want it.
This is the kind ass-backwards logic that these bigots have used to isolate us and put us at an economic decline in comparison to the rest of the world.
Oh, and guess what? All these pesos are helping American companies and creating American jobs!
Maybe we should send those back to Mexico too.
