Is Dailykos a 21st century Scooby Do?
For those of you too young to remember the ORIGINAL Scooby Do cartoon series let me explain why I think Dailykos is of course the Mystery Mobile, our vehicle of transport, that on occassion breaks down and is up and running again within 30 minutes thanks to ct, Markos is Fred "Freddie" Jones, the leader, and all of the rest of the wacky characters that make up the gang.
Well, we are not exactly "kids", but boy are we meddling! Just ask Scooter "The Defendant" Libby. Or Jeff "The Tool" Gannon.
Most of us are old enough to remember watching the famous series in the early 1970's. So what are your memories of the show, or other Saturday morning cartoons? And remember when "Saturday Morning Cartoons" were "Special"? Before 24 hour cartoon channels, cable, and DVD Players. Man, back then there were only like three types of sugar sweetened cereal, now there are like five flavors of Captain Crunch plus special holiday versions that all taste the same but have different colors, and Saturday mornings were the time when us kids RULED. At least until Noon when Fat Albert (the original NOT the movie) was over. I think our parents were all sleeping off hangovers (hey, it was the 70's). Who here didn't learn about the workings of our government from Schoolhouse Rock (I'm Just a Bill)? And who of our noted commentators, authors, and front pagers are like Daphne (danger-prone and vain) ((and I might add HOT!)) Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers?
I'll take the first stab:
Fred: Markos
Daphne: Plutonium Page
Velma: nyceve
Shaggy: Hunter
Scooby Doo: Bill in Portland Maine
You can be gender neutral in selecting you characters. You can have multiple entries.
Hell, who am I kidding? Like I have any control whatsoever in what you decide to do. This thing is already out of my control!
And be sure to toon (get it?) in tomorrow for my in depth analysis on why I think mcjoan is just like Spongebob Squarepants!
