I know many of you are going to wonder why I am diarying about this. I am so infuriated right now, and i know many of you will probably know what I mean when you hear it. many of you will probably tell me to get a life and get over it. The fact that I put it out there causes me to expect some response. right? well, here goes.
I am a member of several yahoo groups. As an escape to political stuff, I like to participate in Paintshop pro and groups assoicated with it. For those who don't know what i am talking about, it is like Photoshop, only a corel product instead of Adobe.
So anyway, this one group always had some religious postings and such. and even political ones which I generally just ignored. but yesterday there was one about Borrack Obama.
Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii.
When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school."
Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Osama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world.
Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
Here is my response to this email that was sent to the group en masse:
Personally I wouldn't blame the guy. Look at what happened when the one congressman wanted to take his oath on the Koran. What outrage! Give me a break. There is such an anti Muslim undercurrent in this country. And it appalls me that people want to judge everyone like that. It's a wonder the rest of the world thinks so ill of Americans!! Usually I just ignore this stuff, but I am not in the mood today. People wanted a 'Christian' and they got bush. I think perhaps we should look somewhere else as a reason to vote for someone. We need someone who represents EVERYONE, not just one type of person. Otherwise this country is no longer the great country it once was.
Now I look at my email response as benign. just stating that i don't blame the guy. you might think differently than i do about what i said. i don't think i was attacking this person at all.
then she sent an email in response i assume to my email...
Ya know what all. If you are going to attack my emails then just quite this group right now. I sent this email because I am concerned, if you dont like it then delete it. You cant judge every christian by Bush anyway. I know you cant judge every Muslim. But like I said MY OPINION is that I am gonna be safer than sorry. this freaking country was founded by CHRISTIANS, not Muslims!!!!!
No more attacking me or you will be band. I am NOT going to have these little jabs anymore!
I realize this stupid drama may cause some of you to quit and I dont blame you, I know I wouldn't want to be in a group with drama. BUT I am hoping my older members know me and know that I am not normally like this. I have just had enough!!!!!
Post your crappy emails in someone else's group!
Sherri
now, she attacked me for responding to a comment she sent to everyone. and of course i like the bs about the country being founded by christians and not muslims. what did that have to do with what i said?? i responded back because i was so incensed by the audacity of this person to expect to be able to say whatever she wanted without any kind of response. i wonder when the country went that way?? hmmm.... so i responded to her:
Oh, so it's ok for YOU to say things about people with 'crappy' emails, but everyone else needs to just shut up. You are right, you are entitled to your opinion, but so are others. And if you are going to put that out there, then expect replies. I don't care if the country was 'founded' by Christians. This is a country that is meant to not be a religious state to prevent things like has been happening for the past six years from happening. We are the 'free' country, and yet our country discriminates on a regular basis against everyone and anyone. I don't care what religious persuasion a candidate is. I expect them to represent me as well as everyone else. And I think you are a bit sensitive if you ask me.
You want to take your marbles and go home, then fine. I have enjoyed being a part of this group. But I am not going to be bullied by a 'Christian'. You want to ban someone for responding to something you put out there, then fine. I wasn't even a jerk about it. I have been saddened for a long time by this type of turn of events in a country that was based on a person's right to speak their mind. Unfortunately it has become a one way street where some can speak their minds and expect no response from anyone.
i admit. i probably could have been nicer. but here is why i am posting this here. i realized after this email bounced, that this girl banned me from the group BEFORE i sent this last email. so she didn't want any kind of criticism at all. and keep in mind that this isn't even a political group. this was a group about paintshop pro. and after she sent out that angry email, she didn't even give me a chance to respond to her bs before she kicked me out of the group.
what does this say about our country. these so called 'christians' who sit there and expect everyone else to listen to their crap, but fully expect to not be responded to in anyway. we are supposed to just sit here and take it. that's the 'christian' thing to do, isn't it? wwjd???
It isn't even this one group. I mean, any family gathering.... i get my brother or sister trying to hammer me about the democrats and how bad they are. but don't try to say anything to respond. that's why they don't do that to my one sister. she is ferocious. she knows her stuff, also. but i am apparently just waiting to be converted to their side.
So there it is. and when I put something out there, I expect to have response. personally, i like to get different perspectives. that is how one learns and grows. knowledge is power.
