There he goes again. The Decider decided that he needs more power and control:
NYTIMES, WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 — President Bush has signed a directive that gives the White House much greater control over the rules and policy statements that the government develops to protect public health, safety, the environment, civil rights and privacy.
So now we'll have a few senators go on talk shows and say this is excessive and over the line and bad for Americans and bad for America and blah blah blah. And Bush will move forward like Pacman and gobble up more control explaining to us how its for our own good. Marches on Washington are nice and people get to vent but all I read about it in the media was that Jane Fonda showed up and the Park Service no longer does crowd counting (just like the army no longer does body counts). And here we are, a day later and the Monarchy continues to grow - what shall we do, my fellow patriots?
You know the answer. Impeachment: our last and only option for recovering our constitution and recovering our democracy. All our congressmen swear to uphold it's words. Now is the time for them to act on their responsibilites. Who the next Democratic nominee for President will be is irrelevant. It's time to get the impeachment hearings under way. Here is what Paul Craig Roberts, formerly Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page and Contributing Editor of National Review has to say -
Congress is wasting precious time with non-binding resolutions and debates over cutting off war funding. The Bush Regime is rushing the country into a war and a domestic police state. Writing in Slate, Dahlia Lithwick reports that one of the main goals of the so-called "war on terror" (essentially a propagandistic hoax) is to achieve a massive expansion in unaccountable executive power. This is a long-time goal of VP Cheney and his chief of staff, David Addington. It is also the main goal of the "conservative" Federalist Society, an organization of Republican lawyers from whose membership Republican judicial nominees are drawn.
American public opinion is being manipulated. In the name of protecting "American freedom and democracy," the Bush regime rides roughshod over both as it ignores both the public and Congress and proceeds with a catastrophic policy supported by no one but the Bush Regime and a cabal of power-mad neoconservatives.
Nothing can stop the Regime except the immediate impeachment of Bush and Cheney. This is America's last chance.
The last election was fun for a night. Now we need to see our courageous leaders get things moving. Time is running out. This is the only topic worth discussing right now. You know it's true. Let's flood our congressmen with faxes and emails and telegrams and handwritten letters from our kids and phone calls and march in front of their offices and not leave until the deed is done. If we don't do it it won't happen. Don't worry about how many votes there are or how much powder needs to be kept dry or if Obama is more electable than Hillary, focus on impeachment. We can't last two more years like this. IMPEACH THEM NOW or welcome to the gulag.
