I am a San Francisco resident, and have had enough of Speaker Pelosi's lack of leadership. I have done my part as a responsible constituent and citizen, by writing letters to her office--but this is simply not enough.
Pelosi represents the most liberal city in America. Her seat is the safest democratic seat in Congress. The more she leans left, the more poular she is, which is what makes her actions (inactions more appropriately), unintelligable if she does indeed share her constituent's values. Her recent inability to lead, combined with her insubordination (We are her bosses), leads me to the conclusion that she should no longer respresent Us. I have posted/commented on this topic before, and only recieved "well-you should run then" in repsonse. I am also not the best person for this position, having no experience in, or tolerance for, campaigning. I, and many others like me, would work diligently however for a candidate who can unseat Pelosi and restore Our voice in Congress. I was impressed, to say the least, by this site's ability, almost single handedly, to propel Ned Lamont to a primary victory over Leiberman. If it weren't for Republicans voting for him in the general, Daily Kos would have been responsible for gaining a progressive voice in Congress. San Francisco does not suffer from this problem, republicans usually don't even bother running, green party candidates are actually real contenders for local offices--that's how far to the left we lean. If an experienced, disciplined candidate can be found, I am confident We could unseat Pelosi. I ask for advice on how to proceed, I have no experience in politics, but am an intelligent, hard working individual. I am currently in MA finishing graduate school, but will be back by May. I want to begin an insurgent campaign when I return. Speaker Pelosi is not performing the job We hired her to do; it is regrettable, but she must be fired.
