Until recently I was one of those who thought Hillary hadn't learned any lessons from giving Bush the go-ahead on his war in Iraq.
Until now.
(more after break)
The link is to a senate.gov page showing that Hillary is co-sponsoring legislation to preventing Bush from using funds in a possible Iran war. Needless to say, this makes me breathe a great sigh of relief. Is it possible she isn't the warmonger her detractors make her out to be?
Many people have detracted her for not learning the lessons from Iraq: that the Bush administration will use anything slightly associated with terrorism as a causus belli. But this shows me that she has, in fact learned her lesson; you have to narrowly define to Bush what he can and can't do, or he'll take it and run. So perhaps Clinton's version of why she voted for Kyl-Lieberman is credible?
Don't get me wrong. I'm no Hillary supporter. I don't think she should have voted for K-L at all. And there are plenty of other issues about her to be dealt with. But her bill gives makes this Obama supporter a bit more confident if she gets the nom.
