As we enter the most meaningful phase of the pre-voting primary season, and as Hillary consolidates her role as establishment favorite and "inevitable" nominee, it has never been more urgent that all who recognize the danger that Hillary represents to our most cherished ideals as deomcrats now unite to oppose her.
This means no more bickering between pro-Edwards and pro-Obama dems. No more sitting passively on the sidelines, waiting for Al Gore or another savior to emerge. It means a reorganization of our priorities. Oppose Hillary first, back your chosen candidate second. Otherwise, put plainly, your chosen candidate loses, and Hillary wins.
To those who say "don't attack other democrats," or "keep it positive, support your candidate but dont tear down other candidates," I emphasize that Hillary is no ordinary dem, that she is a DLC pro-war Lieberman-dem, and that she uses the party mainly to advance her self-interest, without any sincere compassion for our ideals. As with Lieberman, we must consolidate against her.
As I've written before, here, it is undeniable that HRC's accomplishments thus far can be, at least in part, attributed to a lack of focus by the netroots in opposing her. While we are the principled backbone of the party, Hillary has taken advantage of our diffusion in supporting a multiplicity of other candidates, while benifiting from our lack of clarity that she is the most urgent threat to everything we are about as dems.
Be it resolved, that lack of focus stops here!
