I've been scratching my head for several days trying to understand why most straight Kossacks don't seem to comprehend the rage of gay Kossacks over the McClurkin affair. Let's turn the tables and see what happens...
Senator Barack Obama has a campaign stop in Charleston, SC to speak at a rally for the small but wealthy and influential GLBT community there. Featured on the program is a singer very popular within the subculture of the community. This person also happens to be an avowed racist against Latinos, who advocates separation of the races, border fencing, English-only public education and accomodation, mandatory sentencing laws, ya know, the whole gamut of institutional bigotry.
The performer is quite a draw with this particular crowd, since southern gays tend to be just as racist as southern straights (much to my chagrin, being gay does not confer saintly status).
How would the Hispanic community react to this person being allowed to remain onstage with Sen. Obama?
Now do you understand why my community won't shut up?
