It's okay to get Bibles in Oklahoma, where a crazed fanatic Catholic blew up the Mrrah Federal Building about 12 years ago. But when the Oklahoma Governor's Ethnic Commission gave away copies of the Quran, Rep. Rex Duncan got a little perturbed and wrote a few letters to his 149 colleagues. Firtunately, only about 24 of the legislators share Duncan's maniacal views.
Oklahoma's Legislator Rex Duncan doesn't believe there's anything wrong with religion in government, as long as it is the right religion. He got some Bibles from a local Baptist organization and said it was th ebest present he ever got. Then, months later, got a Quran from the state's Ethnic commission and found himself whirling in a tizzy, screaming about Islamic hatred. Hmmmm!
Duncans says he researched the Internet to learn about Islam -- probably reading hate sites like Little Green Footballs -- which loves to bash not only Muslims but open minded Democrats and frequently the Daily Kos.
What scares me the most is that Duncan believes everything he reads -- selectively, of course -- on the Internet. That should diqualify him from holding any public office.

Also, listen to my Chicago radio show if you live in the six county Chicago area on 1530 AM every Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM (708-493-1530) ... I'd love to have DailyKos bloggers call in and make it home.
