That's what my accounting program reports.
I don't regret giving to Wellstone.org, and, so far, Obama, Edwards, Dodd and Kucinich. But starting today I will no longer contribute to a Democrat politician or liberal political organization until I see the majority of Democrats risk and spill their own blood by successfully resisting the Iraq war and attacks on our civil liberties.
I regret giving to Kerry:
He didn't FIGHT by contesting Ohio. He barely even spoke up about likely fraud (now proved, complete with convictions). He didn't fight against the Republican-gay-married-hypocrite-consultant Arthur Finkelstien's Swift Boat attack until it was too late. I and others donated for a CAUSE Kerry was supposed to be LEADING but he barely whimpered at the finish line. Give me my money back. Maybe I should call my credit card company and contest the charges!
"Hello Visa, yes, I'm contesting charges on my bill to Kerry and the Democrats. Why? Because Democrats said they were going to lead but instead they flopped and pandered; and many of them voted for the worst anti-American Republican traitorous legislation. Oh, you agree and you're doubling my refund? Thank you!" (ha, ha)
Many Democrats are frauds. Look at Hillary Clinton. She says "Politics of Hope" like an old Pravda hack as she strings together shameful vote after shameful vote in the Senate, gang raping our Constitution while blocking abortion of the criminal traitors leading our country.
I'll say it again:
Hillary Clinton, together with notorious Republicans, gang raped our Constitution and is against aborting Cheney and Bush from the womb of office. In this abstract sense, Hillary Clinton is pro-rape and anti-abortion. She doesn't believe we the people have the right to abort criminal leaders but should instead bare them to full term.
MoveOn?
What difference has it really made? Kerry didn't win. Democrats retook Congress because the Iraq War blew up and big media couldn't contain it. Dear MoveOn, the choir is saturated. The Internet isn't novel anymore. We've reached satiety with your chatter and smart ass ads. MoveBeyond MoveOn and MoveForward or GetIgnored. No more money or time from me.
**** What's missing now is strong action by our representatives, not fundraising to get them elected.
Incumbent Democrat politicians are not even close to operating at half capacity. MoveOn and other such organizations are really just borderline proxy noisemakers without direct power in government. Such organizations are useless unless representatives actually fight for what's right.
Democrat legislators have been so lame since retaking Congress I've concluded they are on average nothing more than watered-down moderate Republican corporate cronies and plastic persona pandering pushovers.
Democrats like these are cancer's helpers: legislative malpractitioners and enablers who backed the Iraq War, the Patriot Act and other anti-American anti-Constitution legislation and have not properly investigated 9/11, the cornerstone of Cheney/Bush corruption.
****REMINDER: Congress, you have an 11% approval rating.
Democrats in Congress think they are assured re-election just because there is currently no threatening 3rd party. But resting on their 11% approval rating is a prelude to well deserved catastrophe. They may look good next to pedophile psychopath Republicans, but next to concerned citizens, our bullet-ridden Constitution and our wounded and dead soldiers, they look like (and are) FLOPS.
If H. Clinton wins the nomination, I'm leaving the Democratic Party and going pedal-to-the-metal 3rd party. I hope Obama, Edwards, Kucinich, Dodd, Boxer, Dean, Lee and the other like-minded Democrats seriously consider abandoning their corporate crony party. They should start a new party resting on the main plank of corporate reform. A 3rd party of incumbents would be a 3rd party with instant power.
I've only seen a visiting Scotsman (Galloway) act like real opposition on Capital Hill when he fearlessly unloaded against the evil there. Hint to Democrat politicians: don't bother hiring Galloway as a speech writer. That would be like plugging a car battery into an Elmo doll.
I HOPE Democrat Representatives finally fight instead of sitting back behind the lines waiting for the battle to burn itself out while mincing and perverting their votes to appeal to moderate Republican voters oblivious to truth.
I HOPE Democrats charge even if they fall. I HOPE they impeach Bush and bull-rush the criminal bastards on all fronts, including a no-holds-barred 9/11 investigation with no backroom agreements about what's off limits.
I HOPE Democrat Representatives punch Fox in the eye (kudos to Edwards) and kick it in the balls (still waiting).
I HOPE others take their place more determined If Democrats fall. (I hope H. Clinton won't hide in some airplane hanger connected to that alleged Arkansas-based CIA cocaine-transport operation while texting Rupert Murdoch for help.)
SO WHAT if Nader's recent reference to Democrat Representative John Olver is true ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIO-tCPSfHA ): that Rep. Olver wrote his constituents warning that impeachment proceedings would cause Bush to attack Iran, declare marshal law and suspend the 2008 elections. (It wouldn't surprise me if Cheney also keeps a dirty bomb or two ready under his pillow.) Bush may attack Iran anyway.
SO WHAT if a few Democrat members of Congress suspect Paul Wellstone's death wasn't an accident.
SO WHAT if it's true!
Move forward ANYWAY. Chamberlain wimped out before Hitler. Don't repeat that mistake. Appeasing the spirit of Hitler coursing through Cheney and Bush is doubly shameful considering our troops have been dying for lies. The LEAST you can do is risk your careers and lives for what soldiers originally thought they were fighting for: our freedom.
MOVE FORWARD. Get your own Francis Walsinghams. I am sure there are many highly experienced ones happy to help.
CONGRESS, YOU VOTED FOR WAR. NOW YOU GO TO WAR.
IMPEACH CHENEY AND BUSH and INVESTIGATE 9/11.
****REMINDER: you have an 11% approval rating because of what you DIDN'T and DON'T do.
If Democrat Representative Olver's views are widespread on Capital Hill, then TELL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE nationally as Olver did locally before you start the impeachment process, then move forward.
Let Bush TRY to declare marshal law. Let Bush TRY to attack Iran. Let Cheney TRY another Operation Northwoods attack.
SO WHAT if there is blood in our streets.
SO WHAT if Fox News goes ballistic. Its geriatric Area-51-Paris-Hilton-obsessed viewers can't do anything.
MOVE FORWARD YOU PATHETIC WIMPS. Morph from Chamberlains into Churchills.
You don't need to scream -- just act.
SO WHAT if some Democrat representatives get killed. Soldiers have been doing that for no good policy reason for the last 4 years, so the least you can do is risk your comfortable lives for something that's actually worthwhile.
****CONGRESS, IF YOU FAIL WE WON'T BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE ANYWAY FROM YOUR CURRENT INACTION.
THE PEOPLE are behind you right now (cheering but with tar and feathers ready). If you announce your legitimate fears before proceeding with impeachment, the people will be ready if Bush tries anything. You should line up military divisions loyal to the Constitution in your corner before proceeding, though. Retired Generals might help you with this.
If this extreme hypothetical reaction by Bush is ludicrous, then hurray hurrah! But if you are willing to move forward in the face of this extreme possibility then how much easier it will be to move forward against anything less!
Now MOVE FORWARD!
My politics of hope: that Democrat politicians do what's right in the face of fear.
If I pull my lifelong democrat party membership it wouldn't matter in primaries since out here in California primaries are usually decided by the time we get a chance to vote, having been stuck with so-so candidates chosen by tentative Democrat voters in early primary states: I mean, come on! Kerry?! Dukakis?! Clintons?! Pick someone you like instead of someone you hope OTHERS will like! In this respect the notorious wimpiness of Democrat politicians perfectly mirrors their constituents!
In a democracy we get the leadership we deserve.
Republican troglodytes supporting the Iraq war are getting their limbs blown off and losing their lives with no end in sight for no good reason. And Democrat voters too timid to protect their civil liberties keep voting for the same Democrat enablers who help dismantle them.
If my position seems too radical for you, fine! Let's stay in Iraq forever and grind your numbed sensibilities to bloody stumps until you finally get it. In the mean time I'll invest in manufacturers of tar and feathers (made in the USA, of course), clearly burgeoning industries. Maybe Vanguard will start a T&F 500 stock index fund (Tar & Feathers 500) to make investing easy for individuals like me. That's the kind of war profiteering I could live with.
P.S.
Even if Democrat politicians don't like Ron Paul's stance on various issues, they should learn from his example, which proves sincerity and consistency, along with reasoned, articulate explanations, win elections. Democrats can do the same. If Paul's consistent anti-war stance can persuade non-Austin Texans, there's hope in this country.
Time-saving hint: I don't read comments.
