Today while addressing a group in South Carolina John McCain quipped that
he would appoint a dead Alan Greenspan to a committee to revise our tax system.
just prop him up and put some dark glasses on him like, like 'Weekend at Bernie's
Is this an indication of the lengths they intend to go to fool the American people into believing that they want to do the right thing for this country?
I understand that it was just a joke however
His humor has left something to be desired as of late. America is looking for substance and he gives us "Weekend at Bernie's"
To me this is a blatant example of the way Republicans have made a mockery of the American electorate. They treat us like a bunch of high school hooligans that they can just feed us a bunch of stuff and we will bow down and worship them.
Republican John McCain said Thursday that as president he would appoint Alan Greenspan to lead a review of the nation's tax code — even if the former Federal Reserve chairman was dead.
"If he's alive or dead it doesn't matter. If he's dead, just prop him up and put some dark glasses on him like, like 'Weekend at Bernie's,"' McCain joked. "Let's get the best minds in America together and fix this tax code."
Yes our tax system leaves much to be desired but the concept that a dead man could enhance it is an affront to our sensibilities.
Instead of discussing how he and the rest of his Republican collegues in congress and the White House have spent this country blind over the last 6 years or discussing how the decider has decided to deprive needy children of health insurance. This man gives us "Weekend at Bernie's"
