There has been much caterwauling about Rush Limbaugh's use of the phrase "Phony soldiers". It takes a willful ignorance to twist his usage into disrespect for honorably serving soldiers. He mentions the phoniest of this war's poseurs, Jesse Macbeth, by name right after using the phrase.
The facts have not stopped many from using this non-insult to try and score political points. Now the last pieces of the "We support the troops" facade are falling off. Kos diarist David Bailey openly hates on a soldier who served honorably and attempts a sad smear of this man and his family. Me & W in chains
I thought the Kossack Empire was designed to win victories in elections? Does smearing decorated vets and their families fit in with this plan? I kinda doubt that is gonna play well in Middle America. Ya' know. Many people find it low and shameful to smear someone simply because you disagree with them politically. It's even lower to bring his wife into it.
I would refute the numerous inaccuracies in the screed, but it would be easier to cover the accuracies as they were few. He did spell Pete's name correctly. If this is the new tactic, "F**K the Troops!", for the MoveOn Kossack crowd, I heartily support it. Show your true colors. I know it made your flesh crawl when you had to say all those nice things about the troops. Heck they volunteered to kill brown people, right? F**K the Troops!
Good luck with that in the general election.
