This is about someone you know. I'm going to refer to the person as "he/him" because most people here are male and I want to narrow down the person's identity as little as possible out of respect for his confidentiality. The other identifying things you need to know are that this person is a skilled attorney, lives in the Los Angeles area, and is not me.
Like many of us these days, this person has lived responsibly and was able to have some financial cushion before a series of externally caused problems occurred -- but not every prudently saved cushion is enough. This person is therefore in imminent danger of losing his house by Friday, he and his pets will be evicted with no place to go.
This is the place in my diary where, if this person were not a skilled attorney, I might be asking for donations to keep this person afloat. But I'm not doing that.
Update: This diary not affiliated with any candidate or campaign.
This person contacted me, as a fellow attorney, asking if I knew of any contract work (essentially, that's skilled temporary legal work) in the area. I don't -- but I had an idea as to where I might find some: here. So I offered to write this diary, which he has read and approved in advance of my posting it tonight. This community is full of skilled professionals, and someone here may know where an attorney with ample experience -- much more than I have -- can find decent temporary work to keep himself afloat until things look better.
This person is someone who, based on my interactions with him here, I would hire without reservations if I had work to offer. He is smart, industrious, and (obviously) motivated. Whoever is able to hire him will be doing him a favor, yes, but will also be rewarded by having their work done well. This is a win-win situation.
Post information as to leads here if you don't mind them being public, or e-mail me at senecadoane at lycos period com with more private leads and I'll forward them to him immediately. If you can help, that's fantastic; if not, thanks for your attention.
Life throws terrible and unfair things at good people too often, and it is a blessing to be able to serve as a lifeline for others. I believe that one of you reading this may be able to do that service for someone who, if you knew who it was, you would be thrilled to know they had received such help.
