This morning, in defending his nominee for attorney general, President George W. Bush said the following:
(I)t (is) unfair to ask Mukasey about interrogation techniques on which he has not been briefed. "He doesn’t know whether we use that technique or not," the president told a group of reporters invited into the Oval Office.
Further, Bush said, "It doesn’t make any sense to tell the enemy whether we use those techniques or not."
Allow me to interpret President Bush's statement in plain, simple English: "We are currently using waterboarding as an interrogation technique."
Asked whether he felt as though waterboarding was legal, Bush went on to say the following:
"I’m not going to talk about techniques. There’s an enemy out there."
For the love of God, when can we impeach this man?
