Yesterday, we had a diary by lukery that gave us updated information on the Sibel Edmonds case and her efforts to disclose criminal activities by our government that includes treason by many highly placed officials. I'll be the first to admit that much of what I have heard doesn't have enough details yet for me to hang my hat on it. It was in the comments section that ryder92111 gave this link to one of two articles by McClatchy. The second article by Jay Root and Kevin Hall gives a few more glimpses of where I started looking. Then Caneel responded to my quick post and provided this link to a great radio interview of Hall, Root and others who have investigated this one crash. Now for all of you who don't click on links, I'll try my best to lay some meat on what I have found.
On September 24th, 2007, a Gulfstream II went down near Cancun in the jungle with almost 4 tons of well packaged cocaine. Some reports from Mexicans on the ground report that they witnessed as much as 1/3 of the cargo removed from the scene before an inventory was taken. Thus there may have been almost 6 tons on the plane. You can see a great photo of the aircraft before the crash at this link. It's in great shape to be a 1975 model, right. I'll also point out that this photo was taken at Little Rock National in Arkansas in 2005. I'll come back to this connection below or in the second diary if I run out of time.
Now the most obvious question is who owns this beauty that was carrying almost 6 tons (OK, McClatchy only says 4 tons, but who is counting after you pass 4 tons) of cocaine? Seems like a real simple question. It is unless the CIA is involved. According to McClatchy and others including the FAA, it was owned by William Achenbaum from NY City. On first glance, Mr Achenbaum appears to be a rich but regular citizen. He is part owner of the trendy Hotel Gansevoot in NY. It seems that FAA records show Mr. Achenbaum owned the plane since 2000. We'll discuss what shadowy people who owned the plane before 2000 later. The plane with a wing tag of N987SA was being leased by Air Rutter International from Long Beach, CA and Farmingdale, NY. Bill Cripe who manages the fleet of planes for various owners admitted that about 80% of the leases for this plane was to government agencies. Read CIA but not exclusively as we will see later.
For those of us who were around during Iran-Contra, you may begin seeing a pattern. But I digress. Now according to the articles, William Achenbaum sold the plane on August 30th, 2007. How convenient. But then, wait, it was sold again within a few days for $2 million supposedly. I have seen the bill of sale, however, and it looks like it was sold for $100. only. I will not burden you right now with the names of the two Brazilians that were the middle owners and had a corporation in Florida called Donna Blue Aircraft (DBA, another neat name used by CIA). The other sale occurred on September 16th, 2007 almost exactly one week before the crash. The interesting part is that none of the papers were filed with FAA until the crash occurred. Again, this "suspense transactions" are often used by the CIA as a CYA in case there is a little problem like a crash of the plane that is loaded with cocaine.
It has well documented that this plane has made several tracked flights to Guantanamo Bay. Now we all know that not just anyone can fly into this area of Cuba. Based upon the timing of the flights and the prior locations, it appears that they may have handled a few prisoners but in many cases it looks like it may have been government officials going down to Cuba to question the prisoners.
Now getting back to actually who was additionally involved in the ownership of the plane, the plot gets a little dirty. Dan Mangan did a great article with NY Post where he gives details on Arik Kislin from NY. Arik is the nephew of Sam Kislan who was originally from Odessa, Ukraine. Well, the Kislan family has connections to the Russian mob, laundering money through American banks, and influencing politicians like our friend Chuck Schumer, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and our most favorite New Yorker, Rudy Giuliani. In fact, back in the late 1990's after the family had maxed out what they could give Rudy, they contributed $30,000 to the Liberal Party that Rudy head up.
In May 1999, Sam Kislin co-chaired a Giuliani Senate race fundraiser at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York. The gathering raised $2.1 million for Giuliani's aborted senate campaign.
Arik Kislin gave Hillary Clinton $4000 in 2006, specifically on Sept. 12, 2006. That same day an Olya Kislin also donated $4000 to Hillary Clinton.
There are more contributions but I won't bother you with those now.
I do want you to take a look at this older article on Arik Kislin and his connections to Rudy. Although I haven't seen proof yet, my conjecture is that Rudy probably met the Kislin family through Babeck Seroush who Rudy prosecuted for crimes in 1984. You have to know that when you go after the mob, you have to infiltrate the organization and probably pick up a few habits and the wrong kind of friends. Just ask Kerik.
So what does all this tell us. It's complicated but I'm just starting to put the pieces together. This may connect to why Porter Goss suddenly left the CIA. I know it connects to the other drug plane that went down less than 6 weeks before Porter Goss resigned. Because the owners of this plane also owned the Gulfstream II that crashed in September of this year. I know that Mel Martinez has taken several flights on this plane but I don't know yet if someone is sniffing up his butt and that is the reason he just resigned from the head of the Republican National Committee. Only time will tell on this one.
I'll add one more tidbit that bothers me. We read recently at TPM where our government was transferring $100 million a month to Pakistan in funds that are impossible to trace and see what they buy or who it helps. Just recently, President Bush has now requested from Congress over $1 billion for Mexico to combat the drug trade. I have seen two explanations for where this money may go. One is that it would indeed be used to combat the drug trade that competes with the CIA and our government. The reason may be to buy additional planes, set up new dummy companies, and simply push the small drug smugglers out of the market. Either way, it is dirty.
In the next diary, I'll attempt to respond to questions this diary may generate, bring in more information on Hillary's trips on this now crashed plane, and give you more details on the functioning of the CIA. There are a couple of articles that I have seen that do tie back into the Middle East and the former Soviet bloc. None of it is easy to follow. I hope to read more of the information from Sibel Edmonds and see if I can make any connections.
If you really dig into some of the third and fourth layers of the numerous links off the few I have offered, please don't do it late at night because you will never sleep.
Now comes the really demanding and nagging question. Why?
Why would our government have small planes like this owned by our CIA making flights into Columbia to pick up tons of cocaine, and then dropping it in Mexico with clear distribution paths into the USA. Ever day we see the list of new deaths from Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for our nation. Everyday, we have deaths in the USA from American citizens who can not afford health insurance and die from lack of coverage and basic health needs. Everyday, we have millions of poor children who go to bed hungry or attend school until they turn 16 but must drop out quickly thereafter because they must work to put food on the table for their younger brother or sister. Everyday, we allow our environment to be raped and slowly destroyed because of our priorities. Everyday, we continue to turn our backs on those in New Orleans who struggle to move on with their lives. Everyday, we walk pass the homeless (26% of which are vets), nod our head or quickly turn away because you have no monies to share.
Everyday, another small aircraft lifts off and delivers another load of drugs to pull our nation into the sewer. And it is our government and our nation's leaders who have this knowledge, are complicit with it, or profit from in with either more money, more control, or more power. When will this nightmare end?
