Of all you learn here remember this the best:
Don't hurt each other and clean up your mess
Take a nap everyday, wash before you eat
Hold hands, stick together, look before you cross the street
And remember the seed in the little paper cup:
First the root goes down and then the plant grows up!

Sometimes Daily Kos reminds me of a kindergarten class where the kids have gotten completely out of control. So to all my candidate-supporting friends of whatever stripe, I commend this song by John McCutcheon. My daughters, six and eight, like it, and I hope you do to.
I especially want to emphasize the line
Don't hurt each other and clean up your mess
This song is obviously about life in general, and I certainly think our country and our world would be better in almost every regard if we all concentrated on not hurting each other and cleaning up our messes. But I particularly want to apply the message to the current campaign.
Because the song is copyrighted, I'm quoting only the chorus (above) and the final verse, below. The song is on Mr. McCutcheon's album Mail Myself to You, which I recommend for long car trips to anyone who has children.
But lately I've been worried as I look around and see
An awful lot of grown-ups acting foolish as can be
Now I know there's lots of things to know I haven't mastered yet
But it seems there's real important stuff that grown-ups soon forget
So I'm sure we'd all be better off if we would just recall
That little poem hanging on the kindergarten wall
