I'm so used to reading right-wing slanted stories on Yahoo News that I just cannot believe my eyes I get the straight dope. I've even starting tracking 'authors' of these stories, in order know who's lying to me. So imagine my surprise when...
I saw the following story. Now, I'm seeing this @ 4:42 AM EST, and I'm pretty sure it won't last long. That's why I'm reproducing the entire content of the story here: not because I don't you'all can't clickity-click on the link, but because I'm sure the source will be editing before you get a chance to.
Now, mind you, this story isn't left wing by any stretch: but, my God, it's not crazy-batshit right wing either: and that sorta knocked me outta my chair.
If providing the full text for historical reasons is bad citizen journalism: well, forgive me: I simply can't think of a way to demonstrate my point( namely, that Yahoo News trims and edits all news stories until they lean heavily right), without providing a historical record for comparison.
EDIT: Since the site's policies don't allow me to provide a basis for comparision, I'm editing out the wholeness of the text(which, as I predicted, has already changed.) Kos doesn't want to fight this fight, and I guess I don't have the right to force it on him.

NEW YORK - Bill O'Reilly thinks American troops aren't getting enough support — from the USO. After a surreptitious trip to Afghanistan last weekend, the cantankerous Fox News Channel commentator told The Associated Press that he's disappointed that the United Service Organizations "doesn't put anybody out there (in Afghanistan)."
...
"I went to thank these guys on behalf of me and my audience," he said in an interview from Istanbul, Turkey. "As far as I know, the only famous people in the past year were (country music singer) Toby Keith and me."
....
O'Reilly, who flew to Afghanistan on Friday to visit Camp Eggers in Kabul and Bagram Air Base, has long been upbeat about the U.S. mission there. He has also been an impassioned supporter of the troops, unwilling to recognize any shades of gray when it comes to expressing opinion on the Armed Forces.
......
O'Reilly said he we went to Afghanistan to get an impression of the state of affairs there, but it was unclear whether he moved about the country without military escort or spent any time outside of the U.S. bases.
