This won't be the longest diary in the world, but wanted to ask a question to everyone. I was just looking at Drudge (Yes Drudge) and they have headlining the page excerpts from Pat Buchanan's new book. Now this man and myself don't agree on much at all. So why is it that I am agreeing with many of the things he writes???
Read below for the excerpt

• Pax Americana, the era of U.S. global dominance, is over. A struggle for global hegemony has begun among the United States, China, a resurgent Russia and radical Islam
• Bush’s invasion of Iraq was a product of hubris and of ideology, a secular religion of "democratism," to which Bush was converted in the days following 9/11
• Torn asunder by a culture war, America has now begun to break down along class, ethnic and racial lines.
• The greatest threat to U.S. sovereignty and independence is the scheme of a global elite to erase America’s borders and merge the USA, Mexico and Canada into a North American Union.
• Free trade is shipping jobs, factories and technology to China and plunging America into permanent dependency and unpayable debt. One of every six U.S. manufacturing jobs vanished under Bush
• "Sovereign Wealth Funds," controlled by foreign regimes and stuffed with trillions of dollars from U.S. trade deficits, are buying up strategic corporate assets vital to America’s security
• As U.S. wages are stagnant, corporate CEOs are raking in rising pay and benefits 400 to 500 times that of their workers
• The Third World invasion through Mexico is a graver threat to our survival as one nation than anything happening in Afghanistan or Iraq

Hope I didn't copy to much (If I did I will edit)
So why is it so hard to find a progressive willing to say the same things. See Pat will say these things and pocket the money at the same time. Or he will find some way to F-Up his own writing. The issues above are issues that seem to be affecting us and most people would agree with.
This seems to be the concept of the 3rd party. I don't know if I want that 3rd party to run for President because that just throws off everything, but where are local and state wide candidates taking his statements and bring a progressive slant to these important issues???
The scary part of his writing is if it pushes another Republican to run as a 3rd party this might actually hurt the Dems because most people without hearing how anyone would solve these issues would agree with the issues themselves.
So what does everyone think? Am I crazy for agreeing with these statements???
Update: Okay so Pat is the wrong person saying some of these things, but who could and have people listen to him/her?? This still takes into account both sides views on immigration.
