I have been reading DailyKos since the summer. It was only a few months ago that I decided to create a profile on here.
I started reading the daily kos at work, along with reading other sites such as the The Nation and Campus Progress. I created a profile so that I could post comments on people's diaries. When I created my profile I was not sure who I should support in the primary, but eventually I had decided I would support Kucinich in the primary or would vote for Obama if Kucinich was out of the running once the Illinois primary started.
After reading many diaries, and watching the democratic debates, I still supported Kucinich because I felt that he had the closest positions to myself. Now I am not sure if I want to support him in the primary.
Now, I have always like Obama since I saw him on tv giving his anouncement speech in front of the state capital in my home town, Springfield, IL. Now that I have left home for college, I have grown to like him more and learn more about him through the College Democrats.
Today, I read a diary about Kucinich which said he was interested in running with Paul. I am not sure if this is true nore not, but I am not a supporter of Paul because I do not hold libertarian views. I have decided that I will now support Obama all the way. I will learn about all of his positions on issues, watch his past speeches more clearly, vote for him in the primary, and hopefully vote for him in the general election.
So this is basically just my first diary on here, and I wanted to write about my choice for candidates. On the topic of the College Democrats, I go to Illinois State University and have helped out with voter registration tables on campus. There is also a group on campus of Students for Barack Obama, and they go to Iowa to canvas for him.
For anyone who lives in the district 11 area, make sure to vote for Debbie Halvorson for congress next year.
