Below the fold is a scorecard showing all 33 Wisconsin State Senate districts sorted by PVI* and color-coded by party. This makes it really easy to see which races are likely to be hot his year. For Dems it's going to be Breske and Hansen, and for Republicans it's going to be Kapanke. Breske's long tenure gives him an advantage, and Hansen was first elected in 2000 which helps, but Kapanke looks mighty vulnerable as a first term incumbent. I'm working on a similar ranking for WI Assembly districts. More on my blog, ReformDem.
*Charlie Cook developed PVI to compare US congressional districts, so technically the term doesn't apply to state electoral districts. I'm taking the liberty of using using it here because my underlying statistical analysis is essentially the same other than normalizing the data to state rather than federal presidential election results. You can see a little more detail of the analysis on my blog, ReformDem.
